I purchased some Meindl boots from them. I was a little bit concerned that the boots were £50 cheaper than the big outdoor chains but they were shipped the next day (I placed the order out of hours) and they arrived the day after that even though I chose standard shipping. The boots are exactly what was described and what I needed. It's a shame I'm so far away as I would love to pop into the store

Excellent assessment and help to find the most appropriate and comfortable walking shoes for me as I now have problem feet -bunions and injuries over the years. Amy gave me lots of assistance and options on my first visit which regretfully was too short to make a purchase. On my follow up visit I saw Phil who was brilliant and I am so happy that I consulted Taunton leisure and bought my most comfortable walking shoes from you. Thankyou Amy and Phil.

Customer service at Taunton Leisure is exemplary. I had to take a new pair of boots back because they were pinching and I was found a suitable alternative without any fuss. I have difficult feet which have had a lot of surgery, so this was no ‘mean feat’!! I have now walked many miles in my new boots and love them.

When Taunton Leisure writes 'Easy Returns', they mean it's easy for them and not the customer (because the customer pays for the privilege). Absolute rip off!

I was so impressed with Alexandra who helped me sort out an exchange of boots. She was not only really helpful on the phone but was equally so when I visited the Exeter store today. She said she hadn't been working long for Taunton's but you have an absolute gem of an employee, so friendly and efficient. Decision made by me that Taunton Leisure, Exeter, will be my 'go to' in future. (Also there was a very quick delivery of an online purchase). Thank you.

Bought a rab jacket it was a great price and delivered in a few days very pleased.

Excellent service. Having been let down by a major national outdoors shop, I found the exact same coat with Taunton Leisure for the same price. Ordered on a Monday morning, had a FedEx tracking order by the afternoon and the coat arrived the next day. Item itself was box fresh and perfect. Will go straight to these guys next time!

Bought some premium leather boots which arrived covered in scuffs, customer service representative said it's normal for leather boots and wouldn't let me return them. I was offered a £5 partial refund which I declined and I'm not shopping there again. Don't expect to be covered in the event you want to return something to this shop.

Having been born and brought up in Taunton, Taunton Leisure was always my top choice for outdoor gear. Bill has always known his stuff and provided the best customer service. When I moved away I would go to big chain stores as they were nearer. But having just been let down by one who took my order and my money, but left me high and dry for a much sort after (and seeming sold out most places) Rab Microlight Jacket for my husband just one week before Christmas I was left in a panic. Luckily a search online found good old Taunton leisure has exactly what I was looking for. The order process was easy, delivery quick and the jacket came well packaged. I was so impressed I ordered more bits the following week. The moral of the story is to stick to a retailer you know gives good service and now I know online matches that of Bill and the team in store, they’ll once again become 1st choice!

Bought a few things from the Taunton shop when en route to elsewhere. The shop looked tiny from outside but the range of boots in stock was better than elsewhere (despite their apologies that it was worse than usual). Had a problem with one pair of boots afterwards and their response was very helpful and gave me free returns despite not being an online shopper.

I travelled to Exeter specifically to visit Taunton Leisure and purchase new hiking equipment with a budget of £600. All staff were busy except for one sales person who pointed where I needed to look and responded with minimal assistance to my questions on two separate occasions. I left with a pair of £30 gloves. I must add that the sales person on the till within the rear area of the shop was extremely polite and helpful.

A disappointing experience.

Ordered a new tent from Taunton Leisure this year, with a host of other bits. Quick delivery, great products and a very friendly team to deal with. Highly recommended.
